Batumi New Boulevard

The New Boulevard is the modern section of Batumi's seaside promenade. The original boulevard was laid out from 1881. In 2009 it was greatly extended and redesigned by a Spanish architect, and the whole promenade now runs for about 7 km along the sea.

The new section continues the old boulevard's tradition of parks and attractions. Its centrepiece is Ardagani Lake, where a French-designed dancing fountain puts on shows with holograms. The historic boulevard has been protected as a national monument of Georgian garden-park art since 1987.
