130-metre tower on Batumi Boulevard wrapped in the 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet.
The Alphabetic Tower is a 130-metre landmark in Miracle Park on Batumi Boulevard that celebrates the Georgian script. Two spiral bands inspired by DNA wind around it, carrying the 33 letters of the Mkhedruli alphabet. Each letter is 4 m tall, made of aluminium and outlined with LEDs (Wikipedia).
The Spanish engineering firm CMD, led by Alberto Domingo, designed it. Construction began in October 2010, and the tower opened in December 2011. Inside, panoramic lifts climb to a rotating restaurant that makes a full turn in 60 minutes, and to an observation level with views over the Black Sea.
