Vaccine girl

A 2021 mural by Musya Kvebouria on Zurab Gorgiladze Street in Batumi shows a young figure in a space-suit-like outfit with a vaccination bandage.

The mural was painted in 2021 during the Niko Movement festival at 54/62 Zurab Gorgiladze Street and responds to the COVID-19 pandemic. The figure holding a shield is often mistaken for an astronaut, but a bandage on the arm shows that the protection is a vaccine. The shield and spacesuit stand for the protection a vaccine gives the body, and the flying black specks represent the virus. The artist, Musya Kvebouria, presents vaccination as the most effective way to fight the pandemic.
